Wonderful Bibs Sep 27, 2011
By Jprae I used lots of different types of bibs before I found the Bumkins brand bibs. The best features are as follows:
- the velcro does not wear out - the bib can be washed in the sink (which I do daily), but can also be put into the washing machine (which I do weekly) - because the bib can go into the washer, you never get a musty smell after several months of washing in the sink - the bib catches food in its pocket
I noticed a complaint that the pocket would not stay open when in use. I've found that I can position the bib open, but it is not like a molded plastic bib where the pocket is permanently open. Since we use a high chair that has a tray, I typically tuck the pocket of the bib under the tray and pop it open to help catch the food.
Work great with Bib Drying Rack Jan 15, 2012
By Expecting#3 I have these bibs for my children and I think they are the best! They are light weight and my children don't mind wearing them. They are also easy to take care of. I wash them out in the sink after meals and hang them on my bib drying rack. They are dry and ready to use again by the next meal. This way I only have to own 1 or 2 bibs per child. I hate putting food-covered bibs in the laundry basket because they tend to get moldy. I usually machine wash them about once a week. I have had the same bibs for years and they really last. The pocket is soft and doesn't stay open perfectly but it does a good enough job. I tried Baby Bjorn bibs with the rigid pocket and my children just hate them. The baby bjorn bib is hard plastic. Even the neck strap is hard plastic and it hurt my babies neck so he cried the entire time I tried to put the bib on him. I also tried the Bibbity bib. That bib is rubber. My kids just didn't like wearing it because it was too heavy. So, I'm sticking with Bumkins. I use this drying rack Mommy Genius Drying Rack--Dry or Display Just About Anything (Baby Bibs, Plastic or Reusable Food Storage Bags, Kitchen Dish Towels, Bathroom Hand Towels, Washcloths, Mugs, Sports Water Bottles, Herbs, Mittens, Children's Boots, Lingerie, Holiday Orname...
A must have! Aug 25, 2011
By happily ever after Can't live without these pocketed bibs! We use them everyday and just rinse them in the sink after each use. Cute patterns and they are not too stiff like other bibs.
Good quality, pocket doesn't stay open well May 18, 2011
By Nickymjw I like the material, fits great around granddaughter's neck, it catches some food but the pocket doesn't stay open as good as hard plastic. Still worth the money. We take it to restaurants when taking our granddaughter (18 months).
